JobPod Lite: Gillett Public Library Launches Workforce Development Supports for Job Seekers9/19/2025 The Gillett Public Library is pleased to announce the launch of JobPod Lite. JobPod Lite facilitates easy and reliable access to online and virtual job search resources for employment seekers by merging community library spaces with the expertise of workforce development professionals. JobPod Lite establishes the public library as a dependable bridge between the job seeker, job search experts, and employers, allowing job seekers to easily access job search tools, connect with workforce development experts, participate in online employment training, and more.
Tracy Vreeke, Nicolet Federated Library System Director, shares, “One of the most remarkable aspects of JobPod is its ability to take advantage of what public libraries are already doing. Libraries are vibrant community hubs that offer a wealth of resources, from technology access, educational programming, job search assistance and helping our community find the services and resources they need. That’s what public libraries do – help citizens and communities improve themselves." With the support of its founding partners, including the Nicolet Federated Library System and the Bay Area Workforce Development Board, JobPod is excited to expand its partnership to include the Gillett Public Library and serve residents of Oconto County. The Gillett Public Library is the first JodPod Lite site to be launched in Wisconsin. “Our partnership with Job Pod is another example of how libraries are an essential resource for our communities,” said Gillett Public Library Director Shannon Stoner. “We can connect people with resources to help them improve their financial and economic situation or to help them find that dream job.” "We know public libraries are very easy for people to get to; Job Centers can be challenging due to distance and transportation barriers, especially for our rural communities. Through this collaboration between public libraries and workforce development, JobPod harnesses the assets and resources already available in the Gillett community while providing convenient and efficient access to online and virtual job seekers services, all at your local public library," says Bay Area Workforce Development Board Executive Director Vickie Patterson.
